Use the cloth to line a sieve or colander placed over a bowl. Pour your mixture (such as butter curds or fruit pulp) into the cloth. The fine weave will allow clear liquid to pass through while retaining the solids you wish to separate. For spice bags, gather the edges and tie securely before adding to liquids or stocks.
